For FADER #78, Sam McPheeters wrote about the publishing of his first book as a young child, before finally writing his first novel. He also briefly mentioned the long musical career he had in between. He's back on tour now, though with his book, The Loom of Ruin, and not his band. We caught up with him in a quiet nook after his reading at St. Marks Books to hear about where the idea for his main character Trang Yang came from and whether or not he's still angry. McPheeters is on the road through May, doing spoken word and book readings, go see him and pick up a copy of his book.
