As Chief Keef's star continues to rocket upward—recent Twitter endorsements rolled in from comedian Mike Epps, Pusha T, Meek Mill and Wiz Khalifa—it's created a kind of internal pressure on Chicago locally, as more and more artists have jumped in to compete. I spoke with Ty Kidd, a blogger at Fake Shore Drive, who verified this observation: "Submissions have always been pretty crazy, but they've definitely increased since Keef's hit the scene. Rappers have come out of the woodwork, flooding our inboxes and Twitter mentions." As competition has increased, it's also increased the demand for guest spots from artists in Keef's GBE clique. In this case, Lil Reese makes a guest spot on King Beece’s "Gun On Me," one of the harder tracks the scene has yet produced. Beece has a style that is faintly reminiscent of 50 Cent, and the production, courtesy Mark Gee, is an ominous string-laced monster, now available as an MP3.
