Mexican Summer have revealed the details of Best Coast’s sophomore album The Only Place, slated for a warm weather release on May 15th. This follow-up to 2010's Crazy For You finds Bethany Cosentino navigating her transition to adulthood. “I’m trying really hard to grow up,” says the former Gen F babe in a press release. “I’m trying to let go of my bad habits and the immature things I still drag around with me.” There will be songs that explore uncertainty and self-doubt (two emotions few artists render more endearing than Cosentino) and of course, a love song for her native state of California. For The Only Place Cosentino and bandmate Bobb Bruno teamed up with producer/composer Jon Brion, who's worked with Fiona Apple and Kanye West.
Last week, Cosentino also announced plans for a vintage-inspired clothing line for Urban Outfitters. This news should come as no surprise to anyone familiar with her history as a FADER intern and creator of our style column, Thrintage.
