If you were one of the 50 million people who also went to the Cindy Sherman retrospective at MoMA on Sunday, you might have also nudged your way in front of one of her hyper-saturated scary clown portraits and thought to yourself, if only I could drown out every other person in this room discussing how "successful" the artist is in "conveying a character" and "the constructs of cliché" (not joking), Chromatics’ "Candy" might've been the appropriate soundtrack with which to do that. It's a dark, mysterious portrait with that crystalline sense of dread that lends itself so well to hyper-crisp photography. Director Alberto Rossini goes for the opposite with this video, which is all hazy blurs but still adds a dash of scary clown/mime paint under the eyes.
