Rumors of a potential posthumous Aaliyah album featuring previously unreleased songs are circulating, following a tweet from Jeffrey "J-Dub" Walker of Diddy's production team, The Hitmen. The tweet, which has since been deleted, read:
Just got great news today; the smash unreleased song called “Steady Ground” I produced on #Aaliyah is gonna be on her upcoming album :)
"Steady Ground," which you can stream below, features guest vocals from longtime Aaliyah collaborator, Stephen "Static Major" Garrett, known as one third of the R&B group Playa and for producing hits, including Lil Wayne's "Lollipop." Garrett tragically passed in February 2008 from respiratory distress.
Two posthumous Aaliyah albums, both best-of compilations, have already been released.
