The only way to describe White Car’s album Everyday Grace is fucked up. It's not that it's noise music or that any of this is hard to listen to, or even especially alien, instead it's just pure, glitched-out computer funk. Vocals are distorted, manipulated and modulated, instruments fall apart, fracture and decay. Songs begin one place and end up somewhere unrecognizable. It's a bizarre listen, but not difficult, and it never feels like a slog. Especially appealing is the warped, spastic breakdown of "In the Second Month of the Year."
