Every week a different FADER staff member will pick a clothing item or accessory that he or she has lately been spending a lot of time with—or would like to—and write a little love letter to it. We would’ve done a column on who we’re dating but that seemed a little bit much. This week Amber talks about Wool and the Gang’s Snood Dogg.
Hahahah. Get it? It's like a pun on that olde-timey medieval accessory, the snood, with Dogg—like Snoop! What does it mean? I have no idea. What I do know is that this is the sort of big personality neckwear that is at once warm enough to nestle around your neck (and shoulders and ears) but not so hot that it actually suffocates you. It's super soft 100% Peruvian wool with enough girth to give you some breathing room. It's the type of thing that lets me wear my leather coat (see above) waaay too early in the season. If I was feeling at all crafty, I could have actually made it myself with one of Wool and the Gang's prepackaged kits. I didn't make this, but it's still my transitional season pet; I take it for walks around the city and sometimes, it just sits by my chair at work, a soft little thing to pet or pull on when someone leaves the window open too long. Everyone needs a faithful companion.
