Haute Couture week is proceeding nicely over in Paris, the most exalted, expensive, custom-made moment in all of a fashion, but with most designers focusing on fancy tulle ballgowns and red carpet dresses, there would be little about it that could inspire our own ready-to-wear closets if it weren't for Ricardo Tisci and his designs at Givenchy. His dresses are continually relevant and stunning, a bondage-y take on classicism, that, except for the fact that they're handmade by little old Parisian ladies and priced in the tens of thousands of dollars, would be great party looks for most of our friends. We're most excited by the hardware looped through the models' nostrils. Tisci loves a '90s reference, breaking up his high fashion with trashier elements from Goth and rave and outfits he might have seen on MTV's dance show The Grind. But the nose ring might be an all-time high for Tisci. Wonder how much those are going to cost? Janet Jackson will be buying one.
