On December 16th Bradley Manning, the soldier who supposedly forwarded secret diplomatic cables to Wikileaks by hiding them in Lady Gaga CDs, will make his first court appearance since his arrest in May 2010. This week Cass McCombs recorded a sympathetic tribute track to Manning—Bradley, know you have friends, he sings as the last line—and premiered it live in a classic folk balladeers corduroy hat on the nonprofit news program Democracy Now.
