Elite Gymnastics already seem to have an expert grasp on pop music and exactly where their own work fits into that great, difficult pantheon of pristine weirdness and unpredictability, but what is also interesting about them is how they seem completely dedicated to incorporating their interest in noise music into this idea. It's never shoehorned, and it always feels right, like on their remix of Mozart Parties’ "Where Has Everybody Gone," which incorporates a sort of jagged guitar effect rumble with the original's intimate vocals. It's a genuinely pretty, probably slowed down piece of music, and even if we stop listening to it in three months, it's doing the job right now, which is what pop music is best at anyway.
