Andrew Noz—a man frequently consulted by NPR for his rap expertise—sat for an 120-minute interview/lecture with producer Clams Casino at the Red Bull Music Academy in Madrid, during which Noz spoke with his most lovely, radio-ready voice. The fair match (both guys are New Jersey-born rap nerds, fond of both finer sweatclothes and khakis) spent much of the time listening to great records: Prodigy’s "Genesis," Lil B’s "I'm God" and Cam'ron's "Killa Cam" among them. In between, Clams revealed it was difficult to chase down credits from Lil B, that he doesn't use random open-source sound samples very much anymore and prefers making beats on Sony Acid Pro. He also suggests it's possible his current enthusiasm for producing for rappers (Clams recently produced two tracks for Mac Miller’s #1 album, Blue Slide Park) will wane and he'll get back into his own instrumental work.
