Sun Glitters’ remix of Brooklyn band Spanish Prisoners’ "Know No Violence" may be one of the Luxembourgers most accessible productions to date. Its straightforward, intact vocals and Sun Glitters' abstracting fat bass and wispy, machine-room percussion combine together swimmingly. The end result's a middle ground suiting both artists, half dreamy rock song and half weird beat. And then with a minute left, Sun Glitters switches into beautiful, unadulterated instrumental mode, letting a few notes of the original's clean guitar ring before covering the record in cotton and spinning it slowly backwards. It's a lovely meeting of minds, the reworking of a sunny summer song for a confusing coming winter. Spanish Prisoners' self-released, pay-what-you-want Gold Fools LP is out now.
