Listening to New Look is all about context. Sitting at your computer reading blogs on the internet? Not the best context. Wandering desolate streets at dusk? Much better context. When we asked them to make a mix for us, we hoped it would give insight into where they are coming from, and from the title alone, we knew that's what we were going to get. This mix is called Doom and Dance Pop, and if you assumed that meant there would be appearances by both Joy Division and New Order, you would assume right. You've maybe heard some of these songs before—if not, awesome. If so, that's cool too, because listening to them again casts a new light on New Look's spare, aching pop.
