As enjoyable as watching Nashville's Starlito evolve from a punchline lyricist into a worthy successor to perpetually depressed Southern rappers like Playa Fly and Z-Ro has been, sometimes it's difficult to get through his tapes without genuinely worrying about his well being. Like Guru said though, it's mostly the voice. There's something about Lito's rasp and the way he wears it that oozes pain, even when he's just talking about regular shit. The pay-what-you want EP Separation Anxiety is the latest of his many outlets for that ooze and as good of a place to jump into it as any.
