Been a few months since we last heard from Pariah, the UK producer who released the incredible Safehouses EP last year on R&S. "Left Unsaid," from an upcoming R&S compilation, pushes him further into an abyss, lasting almost four minutes before its routine melody and rhythm finally emerge. It's heavy. It's hard, as well, to imagine it as dance music. But as many of his peers take influence but move away completely from four-four and big bass, Pariah is still playing well within the sandbox of tempo and resilient drum patterns. In a sense, his is a more difficult undertaking, to pry open doors without leaving the house. (via Boiler Room)
