It's been said that jerkin' can't die. There's been much speculation about the present day validity of that statement around these virtual FADER offices but as long as kids like Icez are still uploading bugged out lo-fi bedroom dance rap to Hulkshare then it's hard to fully deny it. Swiping its foundation from Oakland's Young Curt, his "Flamez" amplifies the already borderline psychedelic aspects of those clipped hiccups. Icez fills in the empty space with heavy synth clumps and layered Heys lifted from the Baltimore club chant palette. In its last minute everything just blurs into a minimalist mass of fractured syllables. "StarHigh" brings those same synths to the forefront to a foggier effect.
