LA 5-piece Mika Miko broke up in the fall, almost two whole years ago. It was clear at the time that there was no bad blood, but less clear why it had to end completely. The band had been a unit since high school, toured successfully and pressed a fresh full-length just a couple months before halting. The members splintered onwards, dropping in to school and new projects. This Daytrotter session was captured in the summer of 2009 while the girls were finishing a tour, and may be the last recording they made together. It sounds like the relief of eating bagels on a Sunday afternoon at the end of a three day sleepover that had some ups and some downs.
