Memoryhouse's soon-to-be Sub Pop-reissued The Years EP was recorded and self-released in its first incarnation two years ago. The new Years sees the old, just-as-tender Years re-recorded, remixed and re-mastered with a couple new tracks. One of those is the half-fragile, half-strong "Quiet America," whose video stars, and was directed by, the group's vocalist Denise Nouvion. It must be so weird seeing your two-year-old feelings dredged up and made new. Writing on their blog, Memoryhouse explain the new "Quiet America" addition and how they're dealing: "[Years'] initial release was a resignation of sorts, mired in the kind of disconnection and existential angst that played a large role in defining the aughts for many. The Years now represents the idea that life can improve in the most unusual and fantastical ways if one were to open themselves to experience… and that, as always, music has the capacity to grow with us through the many different stages in our lives."
