With a brain that's seemingly tapped directly into the internet, Lil B might be the first rapper to truly be influenced by everyone and everything. But if any single artist sits at the forefront of that data stream it's probably Lil Wayne. Wayne's raspy inflection hung heavily over B's transition from teen rap group anchor to solo mixtape powerhouse weirdo, and B's Hot Boys fandom and general New Orleans obsessions are both well documented. So it's hartwarming to learn that the two eccentrics have finally cut a record together, allegedly scheduled for a forthcoming Wayne mixtape.
Of course this should be taken with a grain of salt, like everything that comes out of the Based God's mouth and smartphone keypad. We're still waiting on the announced collabs with Prince and Jay Electronica. At least this time there is photographic evidence of Wayne and B being in the same room this weekend—celebrating Birdman's $2 Million loss, no less.
