Last summer, Sean Paul teamed up with longtime manager/producer Jeremy Harding of 2Hard productions. The duo had enjoyed joint success prior, with "Baby Girl” and “Infiltrate.” They put together the City Life riddim, a dream vehicle for Paul. His City Life track, "Beat of My Heart," was airy enough to enjoy on the beach, but still dark enough to vibe a filthy, wet NYC summer. Now Paul's returned with "Gal A Bawl For More," on the new, Blaze Fia riddim. The addictive, aerobic foundation-tune was crafted by Dutty Rock, the brand-new production company Paul helms. Jamaica's heaviest hitters—Busy Signal, Asassin, Chino, Wayne Marshall, Laden and more—have all had a go. Arguably, dancehall's ladies fare best on these Paul-driven riddims. Last year, Denyque's "Supergirl" was a City Life standout. This season Cecile shines. Her "Pree Mi" showcases her animated, unflagging delivery. Cecile's "Rolling in the Heat" verse is getting attention in Europe and stateside. Will "Pree Mi"'s memorable chorus ever see traction outside the islands? Check out both Blaze Fia burners, below.
