It's hard to say what exactly keeps bringing us back to Black Rob. The rap industry no longer turns in this dude's favor, and really, it only briefly did. Maybe that's part of the appeal. He is a relentlessly New York rapper in a way that doesn't necessarily exist anymore. Namedropping his Timbs, wearing a ridiculous hat rapping for five minutes without pausing for much of a chorus because he is a rapper and that's how it's going to be and too bad if you don't want to hear it. Statistically, we are more likely to listen to Black Rob—new or old—in the cold winter months. So maybe holler at us in May and see if we're still jamming this, but right now it makes a lot of sense.
