Leave it to Casely-Hayford to break up the stagnancy of our post-holiday malaise. The London-based duo always has something different to show us, each season a collection of new shapes and new silhouettes that transports us out of the duldrums like Narnia's mystical wardrobe. This time, the father and son team explores looser lines and fabrics than we've seen from them in the past, crinkly linen and long sheaths that evoke desert Nomads, and a slight change from the crisp Dalston gentlemen of their past collections. There's still the structure of Savile Row tailoring in much of their clothes, but the creme colors and light cottons are fresh and bright, and Barbour-style jackets and tweed blazers have been deconstructed and softened, seemingly ready to reflect the heat and sun of the Sahara desert. It's bound to keep us satisfied through the warm spring months, but as with each passing Casely-Hayford collection, we're also always impatient to see where they're taking us next.
