Thought the whole Bright Eyes thing was dead and Conor Oberst was moving on to other, differently named pastures. Turns out we were just confused and The People's Key (Feb. 15th, Saddle Creek) will be the last Bright Eyes record. Admittedly, we were not super stoked on Cassadaga, and actually more preferred Oberst's sprawling can't-decide-if-i-want-to-make-straight-country-or-weird-electronic-jams-potentially-about-cocaine-but-maybe-not period. Going off this one song alone, Oberst might be attempting to combine the disparate elements of both I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning and Digital Ash in the Digital Urn into one final mission statement.
