"Stilyagi" is the best unexpected word of today: basically, it looks like stilyagi were Russian hipsters of the 1950s and in fact that is the direct translation of the 2008 Russian movie of the same name. The track by Puro Instinct, formerly Pearl Harbor, lovers of all things Russian, is narcotic shoegaze with a transistor radio shoutout by their friend and tour mate Ariel Pink. "Stilyagi" is the A-side to an upcoming 7-inch on Mexican Summer, who will also release their LP. Bonus: Puro Instinct, gold eye makeup-clad, also recorded the track "Silky Eyes" for a live session recently, watch that above.
