Hugh Jackman once did a television interview where he said his father cried when he performed at Carnegie Hall. Recently, Louis CK said though he had dreams of playing at Carnegie Hall, he now knows it's "just a place you rent." Regardless of the feelings of the bookers, performers, their family, or really anyone else, it's really fucking nice to see some shit there. Not sure if Joanna Newsom was booked independently or in house, but we are still planning on seeing her there next week. And hopefully her crying father somewhere in an ornate balcony. As preparation, we watched this video of her and her gigantic harp playing the title track to her most recent, incredibly great, album Have One On Me last week in Texas. We also watched this, which is differently incredible.
