Spark continues Britain's apparently insatiable hunger for lady singers with clear, powerful voices (which we are not complaining about—quite the opposite in fact). The newbie in the pack, she's just eighteen, and has a tragic bent to her stance—some kind of pain or anxiety audible whenever her voice quivers, just a little, like someone stepped their toe in a lake. Which means we already like her better than half those other fools! The original of "Revolving" has an almost-electro synth crunch, but you can hear the melancholy of whence we speak in the Monsieur Adi remix, which is stripped down to its skivvies bar a pattering of synths. Ramadanman, though, takes the opposite approach, chopping up her words into a kind of counter-rhythm to the eager jog of his drum machine before letting her chorus soar over a warm low. Sidebar, Ramadanman is crazy at rhythm patterns.
