Egyptian Hip Hop has got to be a drug reference. A Jefferson Airplane was an improvised roach clip. So Egyptian Hip Hop is like the hashish bits you find under your fingernails at a Wu Tang show? That's, at least, the vibe of "Moon Crooner," the UK group's Hudson Mohawke-produced synth workout. It's definitely UK brash rock, pained singer, but with extra bounce. The video, though, that's another story, like if Lewis Carrol was making art school music videos. One of these dudes would definitely have been the inspiration for the Cheshire Cat. Didn't he live in a mushroom tree or something?
