If there's one thing we're sure of, it's that Animal Collective have a shitload of new fans tracking their every move since Merriweather was released. It'll be interesting to see their take on Down There, Avey Tare's dark, swampy solo record that sounds fresh and also like an old timey carnival. It's a pretty rewarding listen, however deep in the Animal Collective fan circuit you might be, and a good insight into what elements come from which dude in the band. Stream it at NPR from now until the album's release on Oct. 20th.
