HELL YEAH. When we first heard Sleigh Bells' album, the big-room beats creeping up from on a couple songs made us think band mastermind Derek Miller had been hitting up some of the same raves as us lately. He denied it when we interviewed him for FADER #68 (particularly given his steady tour schedule), but still, given our predisposition for bass and hands-in-the-air dance parties, we didn't quite buy it (or maybe we just saw someone who looks like him that one time at Flashing Lights). For this totally awesome remix of "Tell 'Em," though, it almost sounds like the switch got flipped—like party-music producer Kingdom dug into Miller's old hardcore vinyl and let it influence the heavy place he's taking his bass, figurative brutality for post-apocalyptic rave mavens. Whatever happened, it sounds totally perfect, particularly after spending all morning listening to Kingdom's label guru Bok Bok's ridiculous podcast for XLR8R which you should also download immediately. AHHH! IS IT NIGHT TIME YET?
