Pioneering electronic label Ninja Tune is turning 20 this year, and in addition to touring the whole world with many of their veterans and new blood, they're dropping a crazy extensive commemorative box set and book, out today. With brand new tracks and unreleased joints from the archive, it's a super solid document of their history and where they're taking the label, which has always gone with its instinct and never fallen victim to trends. Case in point: this track we snagged from Sheffield house master/BBC radio DJ Toddla T and his lovely cohort, revered garage queen Ms. Dynamite. Dabbling in autotune, the far reaches of classic UK garage, stuttering house, British dance pop (in the Radio 1xtra sense of the term) and a dash of funky bashment, it's everything and no one thing at once. Which means that, in its weird leftfield way, it sneaks up into the realm of populism. Tricky! Also, Toddla's an amazing DJ and is coming stateside with the Ninja Tune tour this month, you shouldn't miss it.
