We pointed out yesterday that walking into the 3.1 Phillip Lim womenswear show was a bit like descending into a dark cave. The Park Armory was dimly lit, with only certain house lights hitting parts of the runway. And it seemed, at first, to correspond with the look of the audience, autumn-ready New Yorkers in their uniforms of dark color, mostly black and navy. But on second glance, there were rays of sartorial sunshine poking through—a spattering of ladies in the mellowest of yellow shades, mustard. Even front row fixture Carey Mulligan got the Grey Poupon message and carried a honey mustard colored clutch. More evidence after the jump.
