If you were to call your friend in Germany tonight to tell him/her all about Black Mountain, you'd be left with a few options when he/she asks, in frustratingly perfect English, "What does this Bläck Mountain sound like?" If you were a nerd, you'd start listing all sorts of home run-hitting, longhaired '70s rock references. But if you spoke from your heart (or jeans) like the Vancouver-based outfit tend to do, you'd simply say, "rock." It wouldn't be corny. It'd feel just as accurate/spirited as this Zoe Bower and Simon Chan-directed clip, which (NERD ALERT) might as well have been culled from a beer summit conversation with Cameron Crowe and Richard Linklater. Or your parents.
