Guitar Center Sessions is a new show on DirectTV that features performances and interviews with influential artists, and judging by the premiere episode, they are not talking minor influences. Peter Gabriel visits with the show's host, Jason Bentley of Los Angeles public radio station KCRW, to talk about his career and music and plays an array of songs from his catalog. They've released this somewhat solemn rendition of "Here Comes The Flood," the closer of his 1977 eponymous debut solo album, as a preview. Comparing it to this early live version from a Kate Bush Christmas special (whhaaaaaatttt???), you can hear the weariness of Gabriel's age, at least until about 3m30s when he goes off. Still one of the greatest voices of all time.
