Listening to Grouper is less about the individual song than the experience. Like, imagine if someone rolled up to you and was like HOT NEW GROUPER JAM IS OUT OF CONTROL and then they played it for you and it was just wisps of distant guitar echoing as her voice cautiously edges its way into the mix. That would be weird. Instead, Grouper is for listening to alone. We've yet to see her perform live, and in some ways we don't want to. Hearing some dude drinking a beer while music like this is happening seems unsettling and not quite right. We'd make do though.
