Our new issue has got a piece on the! book! of! the! summer! by Gary Shteyngart, author of The Russian Debutantes Handbook, Absurdistan and a really long article about MIA in the new GQ. Seriously, he spends like four paragraphs talking about how long it is. Anyway, because his new book, Super Sad True Love Story, is kinda a big deal, he gets to make a commercial where he is illiterate, Jeffrey Eugenidies makes a cameo and curator James Franco chills and wears a wig. Maybe this post should have been called Gary Shteyngart is a Weirdo and James Franco is a Weirdo. Super Sad is really good! Read it when it comes out but don't write Shteyngart any fan mail because he won't be able to read it (illiterate). (via The Awl)
