Ok, so footwork is a subgenre of juke. Juke is a fast step grandchild of acid house with a little detour through Detroit wizard Omar S' brain and maybe a dollop of dubstep repetition. DJ Nate is a footwork pioneer and like nine years old or some shit and he is way better at making digital music than old people because he was born with a Gameboy in his hand. He is the Harrison Ford of this Blade Runner world, a Chicagoan robot producer churning out ten bazillion punchy jams per hour. Basically imagine Fatman Scoop yelling over and over except with a high voice and like double the BPM and a bunch of synth bass sounds laserbeaming. "Make 'em Run," from his first official release on heritage status UK electronic label Planet Mu, the "Hatas Our Motivation" 12-inch. He's got an album later in the year, too. It's three LPs. Fitting for the 14 MySpace pages the dude has.
