Amanda Blank is best known for her raunchy raps, but when she sings (not frequently enough), it's like she's stepping into her own fourth dimension, peeling away her tough layers to expose artistic versatility and, more importantly, vulnerability. On "Only You," together with longtime New York DJ/producer Eli Escobar's tight, glossy house, Blank's vaguely raspy alto turns up in the kind of warm, evocative 2AM dance track that can either make or break your night depending on whether you're mid-makeout or recently jilted. In this video, it looks like Blank is down on her luck—starts off cool, she walks around New York and takes some kind of emo soft-lit headshots... AND THEN! "Lucretia My Reflection"-style mascara face meltdown, which then inspires her to kleptomania a bunch of make-up from Duane Reade.
