A few months ago, our good friend Flip posed the extremely relevant question, "Why is Donae'o's 'Party Hard' included on the Soca Gold 2010 compilation?" It was a UK funky essential (released in 2009 no less) and about 32,000 BPMs slower than most soca tracks, so its inclusion technically didn't make sense to the nerd-purists among us. But listening to the amazing "I'm Fly" (which samples, of course, a fly) has forced us to re-evaluate our position: Donae'o was included on a soca comp because he makes tracks that embody the hotly pumped-up energy of carnival, jams that make it impossible not to do a little booty pop in the office chair.
