Isis are entering a heavy, full circle summer this year. After 13 years as a band, they'll be playing their last show in Montreal on June 23—the city in which they played their first show—and then they'll be going their separate ways. Bummer for us, but they seemed relaxed about the prospects of new things to come. One of their last acts together is to release a split with The Melvins, their cousins in sludge, and they were on the Bonnaroo bill together, offering a heavy, hours-long afternoon shower of loudness. We caught up with them right before the performance where they sipped some Budweiser on a picnic table and talked to us about their plans for their first summer not being Isis.
