There is no way that Tinie Tempah would ever be called "Tinie Tempah" if he were an American MC—that name is so singularly British, not to mention ILL. He's been causing quite the storm in the UK, his popularity dovetailing with Brit hip hop opening up to different styles aside from grime and crunchy soul shit, with Tinie, Giggs and Ghetts leading the charge. "Frisky" could legitimately become an American crossover hit, and Tinie's way more interesting than half the new/young/hip US rappers right now, anyway. Plus he says "knickers." (via Soul Culture)
