The Game might be too self conscious. Listening to The Red Room, it's easy to get the impression that he sits at home thinking, Okay now I need to get the Neptunes track, and once I do that I need to holler at Fab for a verse. Oh yeah and I have to rap over "Beamer, Benz or Bentley" because that's what everyone is doing right now. The flip to this is that when he gets it right, he really gets it right ("It Must Be Me"). Other notable moments: the menacing "Slangin Rocks" buried toward the end of the tape, also Bizzy Bone sounding even more out of his mind than normal on the otherwise limp "Real Ganstas."
