Hello! "Life Magazine" has been on heavy rotation for months, and we haven't gotten tired of its synth melody one bit. But, um, Arthur Baker molded and manhandled the so-familiar synth melody into what could be THE GREATEST FUCKING THING WE HAVE EVER HEARD, amplified seven times bigger and emitting Hudson River levels of fireworks. Actually, we would venture to say this song may, in fact, be the Statue of Liberty. We are tired, poor and huddled, and it has taken us in its arms and enveloped us in its goodness. But then, we can't be too surprised at its balls out insanity, since remixer Arthur Baker had his first big production hit with a little-known gem entitled "Planet Rock." He also produced New Order's "Confusion" and signed New Edition to his label. So, you know, he's been around, doing things. We will think about those things while we listen to this six or so more times in a row. Also, if you're in New York, you can see Cold Cave play for free on Sunday at Barnard College's annual WBAR-B-Q. Full line-up and details after the jump.
