Los Angeles' beloved Family bookstore is opening tonight for 30 days in our own beloved New York City. With artists in residence, a curated selection of books and artifacts for sale and a heavy schedule of performances, 30 Days NYC is a very welcome addition to the Tribeca landscape they are joining. Tonight opens the space with music from Aska and Brian Degraw from Gang Gang Dance, along with a psychedelic light show from Gary Panter and Joshua Light. We'll have footage from the space, interviews with lots of the people participating in its making and generally good videotaped videos. Check out Family owners David Kramer and Sammy Harkham in the (mostly) empty space, giving a taste of their hopes for the space. See it transformed, starting tonight at 7PM at 70 Franklin Street.
