NPR is kind enough to stream the entirety of Joanna Newsom's Have One On Me. Us lucky writer folks have been streaming it for a couple of weeks with a stringent stipulation that we keep our mouths shut. -It is definitely her best record
-"Go Long" is the best song. It's so good
-"Go Long" has kora
-There is a part where Joanna Newsom says "silly goose," that's the best part of the record
-Three songs reference being drunk, two in the first line of the song
-There is much less Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe elf quiver in her voice
-The last song, "Does Not Suffice" is a brutal breakup song
-Some of the songs were recorded in "Weed, California" and some were recorded in "Grass Valley, California"
-Jim O'Rourke mixed six songs (in Tokyo)
-Phaedon Sinis plays tarhu and kemençe
Alex Camphouse plays "horn." Just horn
