As if being a member of Fucked Up, Marvelous Darlings and The Bitters (get familiar) wasn't enough, Ben Cook also records as Young Governor. Most surprising is that his Young Governor material manages to be abrasive, light on bass, heavy on sharp spikes of treble and packed with completely sweeping choruses ("Call Me When The Cat Dies" being a particular highlight—jam it on his MySpace). Recently Cook posted a download of an mp3 version of a mixtape he's selling. A lot of the stuff on there is unsurprising: snippets of still unreleased Bitters songs, new Young Governor material...But then it also begins with the OPENING THEME FROM "GOOSEBUMPS"—which we barely remember actually being a TV show—and a bizarre "collaboration" between Cook and everyone's favorite teen superstars Demi Lovato and The Jonas Brothers.
