Despite his UK base, we think of Joy Orbison as a Williamsburg Bridge kind of guy. But Michna has apparently (re)claimed his brand of preppy house™ for south Brooklyn with his "Brooklyn Bridge" remix of "Brklyn Clln." We loved Michna's Magic Monday and are wondering if it maybe has a kinship with Orbison that we overlooked. Both are definitely dance music dabblers, but not necessarily its deepest residents. This remix finds a middle ground between the beat-you-over-the-head beat of much British dance and Michna's outer borough downtempo leanings. If Joy Orbison also knows how to play trombone, we might have a transatlantic match made.
