Every week a different FADER staff member will pick a clothing item or accessory that he or she has lately been spending a lot of time with—or would like to—and write a little love letter to it. We would’ve done a column on who we’re dating but that seemed a little bit much. This week Felipe Delerme writes about the No Mas You Cannot Be Serious Sweat.
I don't wear green very often, but it isn't because I don't like the color. I can remember this career advisor who came to my high school for a job interview workshop suggesting that I wear more green because it complemented my complexion. I think the sweater I had on that day had some pine trees sewn into it or something. No Mas makes sports-inspired streetwear, but they'd probably cringe at it being called that due to the fact that the quality and originality of the line far supersedes that of most streetwear brands. This particular hoodie was designed with an overt tennis slant, referencing Hall Of Famer John McEnroe's phrase of choice for farsighted line judges. I've never played tennis, not competitively anyway, and I'm not so sure I'd get along with someone who felt it was okay to talk to officials so callously so often, but I do like the idea of rocking a hoodie that automatically addresses whoever I have my back towards.
