Oh my. Having already opined on drummer-turned-producer Borgore's evil take on dubstep being closer kin to straight metal, we already decided we'd be scared to see him in his hometown of Tel Aviv—we picture a lot of aggy big fellows doing the cannonball (moshstep) and getting our delicate features smashed in by somebody's spike bracelet (dudestep). We were way less scared when we saw him rip a hole in the fabric of time at his Brooklyn debut a couple of months ago, but other than moshy vibes and a kind of weird fratty MC, we emerged relatively unscathed. Might have to reconsider our position after listening to this mix—about ten minutes in, his frantic bass shredding shot bolts of electricity from our iTunes, through our headphones and shattered our eardrums. Not feeling the naked lyrical misogyny at all—no, you do the dishes, ballscratcha!—and unclear if it's there for shock-value pranksterism or actual straight-up 1950s values, but if you skip through "Ice Cream," "Act Like a Ho," "Love" and a couple other tracks, there is only the sound of machete-sharpening BASS, which is all 2010 and beyond.
