Jeremy Jay manages to capture teen melancholy without sounding like he's in the middle of puberty. The best example of this is on Jay's new album Slow Dance is "Where Could We Go Tonight," the closing track, which is ostensibly about driving around aimlessly with your friends. And while it borders on corny ("You're an angel from the stars/As you play those strings on your noble guitar"), he does capture that magic moment when you're pretty sure something awesome is going to happen at any second even though most of your nights end with a four hour block of Newsradio reruns. Slow Dance is out on K Records on March 24th.
