Video: Errol Morris Gives a Voice to the Middle

October 29, 2008

Academy Award-winning filmmaker Errol Morris, with soundtrack help from Academy Award-nominated and Devo-helming musician Mark Mothersbaugh, just launched his new website PeopleInTheMiddleForObama.org, which collects Morris' interviews with "common-sense Americans, of all political affiliations, who are more
concerned with the issues facing our Country than strict partisan
ideology." The videos, in typical Morris fashion, are intimate, funny and convincing, especially if you really, really want Obama to win by a landslide. Still, we here at The FADER believe in equal time and all that, so as soon as the McCain campaign gives us one thing of interest or cultural relevance to talk about, we will put it up. Until then, we're just gonna keep rolling with this Obama stuff. VOTE ON NOVEMBER 4TH.

Grass Roots Campaign by Errol Morris Launches to Lend a Voice to the
'People in the Middle' Voting for Obama

Between the far right and extreme left are people in the 'middle' –
common-sense Americans, of all political affiliations, who are more
concerned with the issues facing our Country than strict partisan
ideology. In this election, like most others, it's these people who
will ultimately choose our next leader.

'People in the Middle for Obama', a grass-roots campaign that
launches today, gives these people a voice. Academy award-winning
documentary filmmaker Errol Morris sits down with real people from
across the political spectrum and asks them to talk about the
Election and why they believe Barack Obama is the best choice for
President.

The 30-60 second interviews can be found at
www.PeopleInTheMiddleForObama.org, and are designed to be spread over
the Internet to other undecided voters who may benefit from hearing
the factors that helped people like themselves make up their minds.
Ultimately, this campaign is a celebration of intelligent,
independent-thinking, everyday Americans who are taking this election
into their own hands.

The People in the Middle for Obama campaign is a collaboration
between Morris and other volunteers from the advertising and
production communities. It was paid for by PFAW Voters Alliance and
is not authorized by any candidate or candidate's committee.

Errol Morris is the Academy Award winning Director of the Fog of War.
He has directed hundreds of television commercials, including
national campaigns, for American Express, Apple, Citibank and Nike.
He is the winner of a MacArthur Fellowship, "Genius Grant". Mr.
Morris is a regular contributor to the The New York Times with his
blog, Zoom, a series of essays on the meaning of photography. He is
voting for Barack Obama.
